Homemade Sausage Gravy

Welcome back! In this post, you will find out how make homemade sausage gravy. In my last post, I outlined a recipe for homemade biscuits that would pair well with this recipe.

What You Will Need:

  • 1 pound of ground pork sausage
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/3 cup of flour
  • 3 cups of milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of seasoned salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper

How to Make it:

First you will need to brown the sausage. To do so, place the sausage in a large skillet over medium/high heat. Continue to let it cook until it is no longer pink.

Next, you will need to add your two tablespoons of butter to the pan. Stir the butter around the pan until it is melted.

Now you can add the flour. Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and mix it together. Stir the mixture for about two minutes.

Next you add the milk. Pour the milk in to the sausage and flower mixture and slowly stir it until it is smooth.

After adding the milk, the last step is to add your seasonings. Add them and then allow the gravy to simmer for two to three minutes to allow it to thicken.

You can now serve your gravy. I would suggest serving it over some yummy biscuits.

Make sure you come back and check out my next post for an awesome recipe for meatloaf! I hope you enjoy this recipe and all the others I post!
